JAMES & TAYLOR SUPPLY CLADDING TO NEW QUALIFICATIONS AND CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT AGENCY, COVENTRY
Cladding specialist James & Taylor announce the completion of the Qualifications and Curriculum Development Agency (QCDA) which has moved from London to a new permanent home in Coventry.
The award-winning company has supplied 1347m2 of Alphaton Terracotta rainproof cladding in a Saffron Yellow Standard Finish (225 x 1000mm & 237.5 x 1000mm) for the bold project.
The building is a BREEAM Excellent building which uses innovative ground-sourced heat pumps. Further phases will include the redevelopment of the landmark City College building (dating from 1935) that will host offices, leisure, cafes and serviced apartments.
Adam Ball, sales manager James & Taylor comments: “Working with BBLB Architects - who have designed the building for the QCA - this has been an interesting project to work on with an eye-catching saffron yellow finish.
Now completed, the building is a fine addition to Coventry’s historic and architecturally significant skyline and showcases the versatility of James & Taylor’s Alphaton Terracotta rainproof cladding range.”
Ed Baverstock, Partner at BBLB architects comments:
“The QCDA Building was designed with a simple rhythm of proportion and materials which responded to the local environment. We selected the James & Taylor rain screen cladding to respond to the colour and proportion of the stonework used in the façade of the adjacent neo-classical college building.
“The result is an expressive, contemporary and award winning building which provides a striking addition to Coventry City.”.
