For James & Taylor, metal facades attract the same passion and determination that we are perhaps better known for in the world of terracotta. We have four guns in this arsenal. “eyetech“ expanded mesh solutions. ”Senses“ extruded rainscreen systems, complex perforating requirements and totally bespoke metal solutions.

— Types

Expanded [eyetech Mesh]

“eyetech“ expanded mesh leads its field in quality and performance. Starting life for us in 2007 this expanded mesh genre was unveiled on the Young Vic theatre in London and has gone on to be developed and used on landmark projects across the U.K. and overseas including the museum of Contemporary Art in Manhattan. We have completed over 50no multi storey car park projects, numerous exhibition centres and many residential and commercial projects.

Extruded [Senses Aluminium]

“Senses“ is a pioneering and award winning extruded aluminium range of rainscreen systems which can be installed vertically or horizontally. The precision and quality of the panels themselves combined with the diversity and beauty of finishes options makes these systems unique. Differential lustre and reflectivity is an area we have thoroughly explored and developed creating facades that constantly change as light conditions vary.

Perforated Metal Facades

Perforating contracts for us are projects that demand challenging and often unique aesthetic perforating aspirations underpinned by engineering excellence. The Stirling Prize winning facades on the Everyman Theatre in Liverpool is one of the many jewels in our crown. Perforating murals and intricate themed patterns is what we do.

Bespoke Metal Facades

Bespoke metal projects are impossible to define as they are all so different, we have come to understand the ones that work for us and the individual project teams. These range from the facades of Selfridges in Birmingham to the twisted Spitfire like propellers used at Addenbrookes hospital in Cambridge.
