— Introduction

The Stirling Prize winning Everyman Theatre facades in Liverpool is both unique and stunning. The combination of hundreds of different laser perforated panels depicting local people was a real challenge for our design team. Specialist computer software was developed by us to translate high resolution photography into perforated reality. This combined with ground-breaking anodising finishes and in house facade engineering solutions made these facades possible. Equally as dynamic, fantastic to be involved with and to help create, are diverse projects such as Dundee University’s CTIR building featuring molecular type DNA strands perforating and perforated murals at the new learning centre in Hereford and sailing over a Waitrose in Horsham. The standard punching of holes in panels for balcony panels and similar applications isn’t for us. For James & Taylor, perforated is art.

I have some perforated balcony panels, can you help?

No. Our expertise are within the artistic perforated facades.

How can i achieve the right shape / hole size to create the pattern i require?

Talk to us. We can replicate any image that you desire any provide options in terms of solidity and open areas of panels.

If i am having a bespoke pattern, will i require a bespoke fixing solution?

Maybe. We run a finite element analysis to determine to integrity of the panel and determine the suitability of a fixing solution. Part of our offering is designing fixing solutions to suit specific requirements.

What material is used for the panels?

Normally we use aluminium as this is the most appropriate materials for fabricating and finishing. It is however possible to use other materials such as CorTen or hard metals.
