Aluminium Domes
A very special story. Future Systems Architects and their
client Selfridges conceived this powder coated aluminium
spun dome solution for their flagship store in the Bull Ring
in Birmingham. Bringing this aspiration to reality was
challenging but real fun. Solving the problems of so many
penetrations through the sprayed Yves Klein blue concrete
was key to the overall solution as was the methodology
employed to create the dome shape. Maybe a one off but
we can't help believing that formed metal shapes offer a
medium to be explored on other projects.
